Emma Fellowes
Architectural Designer
From New Zealand to Charleston, Emma brings an energetic blend of creativity and technical expertise to Coastal Creek Design. Her journey from soccer fields in Christchurch to designing American restaurants, and now Charleston homes showcases her adaptability and innovative spirit.
“Protect, Adapt, Cherish” isn’t just Emma’s design philosophy – it’s her approach to life. With a Master’s in Architecture focusing on Disaster Resilient Design from NC State, she understands that great architecture is about more than just beautiful buildings. It’s about creating spaces that honor the past while embracing the future.
Before joining our team, Emma made her mark designing restaurants across America and developing flood-resistant community solutions in North Carolina. Her experience speaking at county meetings and working directly with communities has given her valuable insights into creating spaces that truly serve people’s needs.
“Sometimes the best ideas come from what might seem like silly suggestions,” Emma shares. “That’s why I believe in hearing every idea, no matter how small. You never know where inspiration will strike!”
Emma collaborates with our design team at Coastal Creek Design, bringing fresh perspectives to each project. Her appreciation for Charleston’s natural beauty and cultural history influences her work as she seeks to balance coastal aesthetics with practical design solutions.
When she’s not crafting architectural designs, you might find Emma photographing Charleston’s beautiful landscapes, adding to her sneaker collection (yes, she’s always wearing the coolest shoes in the office!), or reminiscing about her soccer days that first brought her to America.
