linda balzac
NCARB - Architect
Linda graduated from Denison University with a BA in English in 1981 and a few years later received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Boston Architectural Center. She worked for several firms before becoming a registered architect in 1991. Linda started her own company when she moved to Mount Pleasant in 1997. She served on the Old Village Design Review board for several years and has worked on more than 90 homes in South Mount Pleasant and more than 300 homes in the Charleston area, the upstate of South Carolina, and the northeast part of the United States.
Linda’s passion has always been residential architecture, both new builds and renovations, specifically meeting the goals of her clients as well as paying homage to the home. She believes in a personal approach with each client to define the project in terms of their lifestyle, taste and budget. Once the scope and direction are established, she and her team continue to refine the design, develop construction documents and follow through with the entire build process as needed. This step-by-step approach allows the team and the client to work together as efficiently as possible and create the perfect new space for the homeowners.
Linda grew up in Scarsdale, NY, just outside New York City. Her entire family moved to Charleston, including her parents, siblings and relatives. Linda has three sons who are grown but still live in the area. She is halfway through bringing two of them to every major league baseball stadium in the U.S. Linda enjoys swimming, painting, going to concerts, gardening, spending time on her boat and hanging with her neighbors.
